Bed bugs are flat, brownish-colored insects that range in size from 1 to 7 millimeters (about the size of an apple seed). They do not transmit disease to humans. They are active at night and feed on human or animal blood. Their bites are similar to those of mosquitoes and each person reacts to them differently. The bites are not dangerous but they can be itchy. Symptoms usually disappear one or two weeks after disinfestation.

Where are bedbugs found?
