Protocol

Once you have contacted us, we will schedule an appointment as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours of your call. We send you the information concerning the few directives (visible here) to be put in place before the arrival of the pair so that the latter can work quickly and safely.

The handler shows up without the dog to begin with. A first contact is made, then a visit to the premises/accommodation to carry out a visual check. We reserve the right not to intervene if we believe that the places are not safe for our companions. The driver picks up his dog and the work begins.

Once the premises/housing has been sifted through by our canine friend, he is brought back to the car and the driver returns to examine the places the dog has marked. We finish the visit by delivering an intervention report, where the information will be detailed. The report is also issued if the dog finds nothing.

We are independent and do not work for any pest control company.

How to best prepare for our visit

If toxic products or insecticides have been used in the potentially contaminated property, it is imperative to notify us, as the effectiveness and health of our dogs are at stake.

So that the dog can work in the best possible conditions and thus obtain the most precise results, there are certain things to put in place:

- Remove all animals living in the apartment (dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds, etc.), at least 1 hour before the scheduled time of the inspection (they can be isolated in a separate room) .
- Remove all objects on the ground (food and water for household animals, toys, etc.).
- Remove all air fresheners from the house (potpourri, air freshener).
- Do not smoke in the premises at least 1 hour before the scheduled time of the visit.
- Be sure to close all the windows and turn off the fans, it is important that there is no draft for the dog.
- Put your fragile objects in a safe place, if possible in another room, as well as any potentially dangerous object (medicines, cleaning products, etc.)

How does it happen ?

We enter with the dog and work room by room, or sector by sector depending on the location (housing, sheds, premises, etc...). In the event of a search in apartments or houses, the dog wears slippers to avoid damage to the floors or furniture.

The dog works at its own pace, and its handler is there to guide it.
When the dog is marking, the handler will check to see if he sees bed bugs, or clues indicating the presence of the latter.

The process is repeated in all the rooms, as well as the hallways, laundry room, possibly garage, vehicle, etc...

This detection technique has many advantages, in addition to being ecological, it is also economical. Indeed, the dog can precisely locate the bed bugs, this makes it possible to treat only the contaminated places.

And at the end ?

Once the detection with the dog and the visual control of the handler is finished, we draw up a detection report. The latter summarizes the result of the detection, the rooms that have been checked, the presence or not of bed bugs and the name of the pair who carried out the check.

If the control is positive, we can direct you to disinsection companies in your area. We do not work for any pest control company, it seems important to us to specify it.

There are several ways to get rid of bedbugs:

Processing by freezing

The treatment of bedbugs by freezing is common. For it to be effective, it must be frozen at -20° for 72 hours. There are containers that you can rent to place large objects such as furniture or bags of clothes.

Heat treatment

Bedbugs cannot stand heat and die at 60°. Heat guns can be used to eliminate them. This natural treatment can eradicate pests in one go by raising the temperature of the room to over 60° for a minimum of 5 hours.

Bed linen and/or clothing, if not put in the freezer, should be machine washed at 60°.

Dry steam is also used. A steamer diffuses its steam at a boiling point, i.e. 100°, its effectiveness is indisputable, as long as all corners are treated correctly.

Chemical treatment

Chemical treatment is a procedure that relies on contact between the bed bug and the product.
The process is done in two stages, generally spaced about fifteen days apart.
